WHAT A STAY AT THE GEAR UP FISH CAMP LOOKS LIKE…
The Camp is a 2 Bedroom 2 Bath Raised Modular. Bedroom One has a queen sized bed with a Memory Foam Mattress, TV, and it’s own bathroom. Bedroom Two has two bunk beds. One Bunk Bed is a full over twin and the other is a twin over twin. Total of 5 Beds. $275.00 per night.
The Dock/Screened Porch is for all of our guests to enjoy. Inside you will find a fish cleaning station, picnic table, and fender/bumpers if you would like to tie your boat up out front. Large gar are known to roam the bayou right out front. Cut Trout bellies on the bottom usually do the trick.

Our Mission
Our goal when we set out to develop The Gear Up Fish Camp was to provide a clean, convenient, and cost effective place for anglers and hunters to stay when visiting our amazing fishery. Fishing in St Bernard Parish can only be described as one of the most unique fisheries in the world.
Whether your sitting on our screened in dock, or sleeping in our freshly cleaned beds we strive to make your trip as easy going as possible. So come on in and stay with us to enjoy a carefree trip of catching and relaxing next to the beautiful Bayou Loutre in Hopedale, La.
FUN FACT: The name “Gear Up” comes from a long line of Boat names the owner’s family used for his previous boats. The owner was in the marine propulsion business(sold a lot of gears) and was going on a Business Trip when his plane slid to a scary landing because the pilot left the GEAR UP. So, Gear Up stuck and we are passing it down to the new fish Camp!! We hope you enjoy our site and take a moment to drop us a line.
